The Couch Tomato Club - OMC Food Review

OMC-end

On Sunday 6th King Farmer had the most excellent afternoon with friends, booze and really fine food at The Couch Tomato Club pop up restaurant in Exeter.

Seb (a professional chef by trade ) and Ben (music label owner) invited 17 of there nearest and dearest for the launch and they produced some seriously good food!!

For £20 a head we were treated to a 3 course carribean inspired feast.

OMC-Starter

To start, and to grateful cheers and applause I must add, we were presented with perfectly cooked, spicy and satisfying muscles whilst the vegies had plantain fritters with mango and chill.

Next up was some skilfully cooked and gently spiced loin of Jerk pork, with seasonal garlic greens and pineapple amongst other delicious complimenting sides.

The vegies were treated to stuffed and roasted pointy peppers with sweet potatato which I was assured were ‘absolutley delicious!’

The contrasting flavours and textures of coconut semi fredo, rum stewed and slightly bitter ruhbarb was really interesting and brilliantly executed… this would easily be at home on the menu of a Michilen starred kitchen in my opinion.

In summary, these guys really know what they are doing, £20 is a bargain for such quality and all spaces will sell out double quick next time… keep your eyes peeled for the next date!
