Just before we descend into a beautiful summer of monsoons and hurricanes there is just about time for you to get your lovely mits on the new release on Ape and have we got something special for you this time.

For Ape 7 we bring you a truly international onslaught....

First up we have an amazing heavyweight combo all the way from the shores of New Zealand. Joining forces to bring you some seriously heavy breaks bizness are Agent Alvin & Timmy Schumacher. Agent Alvin is currently blowing up big time on the D&B scene with huge releases on Roni Size's Full Cycle imprint and now Adam F's Breakbeat Kaos label too. He has also worked with Mc Spikey T for the breaks label Resin. He has been joined especially for Ape by the mentally hilarious Timmy Schumacher. Schu used to be one half of the mighty heavy NZ breaks outfit Baitercell and Schumacher who had fookin huge releases on Aquasky's Passenger label and also on Resin.

The result is a bass heavy aural assault with some heavy horny funk attached. Its been destroying dancefloors and brothels from New Zealand to New York via Glastonbury and the Glade

On the flip we have finally nabbed the Mexican mischief maker Manuel Neztic to remix label heads Ben & Lex's funky lil number Monkey Business (Original to be released in 2 weeks digital only). Mr Neztic has taken the original, flipped it and given it his trademark tight production and crisp beats and a sweet wobbly b-line for full party action. Also keep ya eyes peeled for forthcoming original material from Neztic coming soon on APE......

Well what can I say, this was easily the best DJ experience I've ever had....



For what started as a quick 10 mins just to cover till Dreadzone turned up to at least 4/5 hours on the decks rocking the main stage, tis a shame lil lexy couldn't get on to the site due to the weather and thank jebus I took along my cds as I only took a handfull of 12"



Still beaming just thinking about it.

I'll post up a full report of the festival later on today.

Electrofields

Its all official now and booked up. We are playing at the Electrofields, International Electronic Music Festival.

The site of the festival is in a beautiful location in the Sicilian hinterland 30 minutes from Palermo, 1 hour from Agrigento and 2 hours from Catania.

This will make a change from playing at rainy festivals in the UK but knowing our luck they will have some sort of Sicilian freak monsoon or something.

Not too sure the full line up yet or what day were playing, but as soon as I do I'll post it up on here.

Forthcoming Gigs

There is loads of stuff coming up soon, so in case if forget (The Wii is slowly taking over every waking hour of my day... yay) I thought I'd whack it all in one post.

This weekend is my lovely fiancée's birthday and I'll be DJing for 6 odd hours playing loads and loads of classic indie tunes... hurrah

Next weekend is of course the Glade Festival and you can catch me and Lex at these times on the Main Stage; 3-3.30(not breaks), 4.30-5(chilled breaks at tops), 8.10 till 8.30(havin it breaks). Should be a right laugh, and fingers crossed the weather will stay warm and sunny for it.

Finally were heading off up to Taunton at the end of the month to DJ at Gobstopper




Busy as usual but have no fear I'll be setting aside plenty of Wii time.

No Time For Posting

I know there hasn't been any posts for a few days as I've got my Wii setup and I'm spending all my spare time playing it.

Quickly though Friday down the Cavern was as quiet as expected, as the huge Respect festival was on next door, and F(r)action in Southampton was funking awesome...

Now back to Wii Sports, Zelda and sore arms ;)

Yes!! Today Is A Good Day, ish

Today should be a brilliant day, the postman delivered my Wii today, and for this I'm very excited. But the only draw back I've discovered, while sat at work waiting to go home, is that I won't be able to set it up till Sunday. At the earliest.

Bugger.

Tonight I'm off on a works do in Newton Abbot, Friday I'm DJing at the Cavern in Exeter, Saturday I'm driving to Southampton to play at the Hobbit and finally on Sunday I'll most likey be catching up on my sleep.

Hmm I reckons I can set up my Wii on Saturday, play it till I leave for Southampton and then carry on playing it when i get back on Sunday between sleeping.. Hurrah not all that bad after all.

Today I stumbled upon a wicked new website, Feedbeat and so I thought instead of using it to just upload random rubbish I'd actually try and make something useful, and so I bring you Breakbeat TV.

Basically I'm trying to collect all the music videos from Breakbeat Artists, that have been officially made, I can find. Its still quite small at the moment but I'm adding new content as and when I get it.

Fingers crossed this might grow into the hub of all Breakbeat video goodness.
