Continuing APE Towers' mission into the land of 140 Jungle and all things bass music n breaksy we are very very proud to welcome back the mighty Spanish bassmeisters Lethalness to kick off 2012 in style!!

First up 'Jawbreaker' a rolling nasty dirty techy 140 jungle behemoth that harks back to the dark and gnarly days of early Virus & Prototype badboys... Tight, punchy drums and twisted distorted bass so badass that will slay a mofo in a minute!

'Rocky Dog' no less of a beast and is a full on bassfest in its own right. Leaning towards the dubstep end of the 140 market but still sat firmly in the land of uptempo breaks it's packed chockablock with heavy beats, tight synths from electro leads to dubstep wobbles and the odd classic break thrown in for good measure. This is the perfect party shakin partner to Jawbreaker!

As we emerge completely unharmed from our summer of festival madness we at APE towers are proud, and quite frankly lucky, to have reached our 30th Birthday!

For our 30th we emerge from our mispent 20's with a thoroughly grown up slice of proper breakbeaty bizzle from fellow monkey lovers Original Primate (although we are the original primate we'll defer to them for this one release)

Original Primate have chalked up a few releases in their short partnership. Pete O'Connor (Secureunit) and Rob Focuz (Apply The Breaks) came together through mutual appreciation of dirty raves, breaks and basslines and had their first release off the back of winning a competition set by Computer Music Magazine and the Canadian producer Myagi.

The bassline is, for lack of a better word, really squidgy. The funky drums feature some radical, quirky programming.

The structure takes some unexpected but welcome detours. It’s a great big grease ball and we love it.

For your pleasure here is Part 1.

First up is 'Can't Take It' which put simply has been the highlight of many a DJ set for the early part of this year. It's a whopping great big behemoth of a 140 jungle badboy of a tune.

Starting with an epic Reese bass intro, glitchy freaky female vocals build the old pant wetting suspense till you quite literally 'Cant Take it anymore' and drops into mad massive jungly drums, 808s and subdrops that will make you spill your guts. This is pure dancefloor action and no mistake.

Next up is a AA side of the highest calibre! No B side fillers round here I'll have you know.

Whoop! does exactly what the title suggests. It's a no messing party killer packed full of juicy old skool garage pops and gnarly basslines rude enough to make anyone blush.

'Drop that Beat' is a humungomentous rudeboy floor shakin monster of a tune that would sit comfortably in the sets of everyone from Elite Force to Ctrl Z. Huge unrelenting reece bass, glitchy vocals, sweeeet edits and massive drums combine to damage any system you could throw at it y'all.

Seeing as we like these fellas here at Ape we have drafted in 3 of the scenes baddest to throw their remix skillz into the mix.

First up we have regular Ape Fam-a-lam Afghan Headspin who have turned in something a lil differen,t but nonetheless freekin awesome for us. Forging a new heads down chugging 130 Bpm sound, they still pull no stops on the aural assault with a huge twisting gnarly bass that drills right through and some sweet dubsteppy drops that bang like a good'un.

Next up we have live act supremos Nursery Of Naughtiness who bring the baddest 808 bigness you ever dun heard!! If the enormous kik doesnt mashup ya brains then the glitchy dubsteppy basses will. Watch ya bassbins I'm tellin ya!

Finishing off the lunacy we have the Gibraltan badmen Lethalness bringin the sound of the Spanish rave straight to th UK with a ferocious tearout beast of a record that is one for the feckin ravin cru and no mistake. Huuuuuuge nasty bass is the order of the day for this whopper.

The three Cornish musketeers, =AVE=, Olly G and Hi-Fly, return to chase their chart topping smash Back To The Old Jack with yet another chugging tractor engine style bassbin-barndance destroyer. It does exactly what you want it to do and packs one hella-wallop in the process. Can do no wrong.
